After almost 2 years of searching for answers of why my husband and I weren't getting pregnant, we decided to visit Dr. Robert Herbst at Care Wellness Center. Before seeing Dr. Robert, we had been poked and prodded, done dozens of tests, tried Clomid for four months, and I also had surgery for endometriosis and polyps. Nothing was happening and I was feeling very frustrated and confused. We weren't ready yet to take the next steps with our fertility specialist because every test (besides the endometriosis) was coming back as normal. I did a lot of research online and found Dr. Robert and Care Wellness Center. From the moment I called to schedule my appointment, I felt at home there. Trying to conceive and not being able to is such a touchy subject and the staff there has always made me feel comfortable and welcome. Dr. Robert was the first person, I felt, that truly sat down and tried to help me find out what the real problem was. He suggested I do a saliva hormone test, which came back that my hormones were very unbalanced. This was no shock to me because my cycles were never normal and my periods were always so painful. After that, he put me on a few different Chinese Herbs and I continued with acupuncture once a week. He suggested several books for me to read that helped me understand acupuncture more and the process of what he was trying to do. So I knew I needed to be patient and that it would take time. After reading the books, I also decided to stop taking any sort of over the counter medicines and try using essential oils to help not only with any illness I had but also with balancing my hormones. In the beginning I said I was only going to give it a few months before going back to my fertility doctor and starting treatments, but after 3 months, I began feeling so much better that I didn't want to stop. Not only had my periods began regulating, I also just felt better overall. I became more hopeful, had more energy, and less anxiety/stress. So I continued for another 4 months. At that point Dr. Robert and I discussed going back to the fertility doctor again. This is another thing I love about him...he was supportive and truly wanted what was best for me...not just for him. So in March my husband and I returned to the fertility specialist to have our work up done all over again. During one of my tests they found that polyps had grown back after my first surgery the previous February. I was devastated. So on April 8th, I went back for another surgery. This time, I recovered very fast. My husband and I had decided that once I got my period at the beginning of May we would start our first round of IUI. Around April 18th I ovulated and we gave it one more shot at conceiving naturally. To our surprise...my period never came and we found out we were pregnant at the beginning of May. I have no doubt in my mind that my polyps grew back before I started acupuncture last August (polyps can grow because of an imbalance of hormones) and by the time I was balanced there was no place in my uterus for implantation. So after the second surgery, I had a clean uterus, my hormones were balanced, and my body was healthy and ready. Dr. Robert helped us conceive our miracle baby and I am beyond grateful for that. He not only listened and helped, but also provided me with surprise free sessions and discounted herbs when he knew I was struggling with money. He truly wanted to help us conceive...it was never about him...it was always about us. And that is hard to say about many doctors these days! A few weeks ago he told me I could stop coming to him as I had reached my 12 weeks, but I can't imagine not having acupuncture in my life after going every week for almost a year. Dr. Robert and Care Wellness Center hold a special place in my heart and I am so grateful I found them!
I have been a very happy patient of Dr. Robert and Dr. Agoado for about 2 years now. I can not say enough wonderful things about them and their practice. I believe the acupuncture they performed on me was vital in creating and maintaining my pregnancy. They love what they do and they are very skilled and passionate about their practice. They are extremely professional and friendly and genuinely care about their patients.Scheduling is very easy and in two years I have never waited in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes which is very important to me with a busy schedule.
